Thursday, November 27, 2008 どうもありがとう。

It is not Thanxgiving in Tokyo- we're on the day after. I don't even eat turkey (picky arse vegetarians) But I am definitely thankful for all the true friendship in my life. Each year the meaning of "true" changes, but hopefully now I've found some that will stay. So, thank you to anyone who's kept it real with me this year. I will always keep you close in my heart.

Now for photos of the last few days.....

We finally got to ride in a kangaroo's pouch- our dream come true.

True.

This is a pen- a microphone pen. This is a songwriters dream. Thank you Harajuku.

Crepe-in-hand, I salute the gangsta of this gold-glitter bootleg Louis Vuitton hat.

That real Japanese hip-hop! @ the Gagle Release party/show at Shibuya Nuts lol.

Tokyo fam. Gotta love em.

Gagle poppin' bottles.

My sisturr. :-D

NOW, the following pictures do not contain sobriety.

What a great photographer we have, Jamer$hoot.

Sunday, November 16, 2008 name tag video.

I'm glad I came to Tokyo, or else I wouldn't have known I had a Japanese sister here.

Coma-Chi's new video for Name Tag produced by Mitsu Beatz.

It was nice to be on set for the video and be a part of the process.
Even though there were language barriers, I definitely
received crew-love which will always be reciprocated.

Man I love music. You forget sometimes because there's so much
bs that surrounds it, the biz, who gets promoted and
who gets pushed aside, but the universality of music-
especially hip-hop is unparalleled. And that's my word kids.

Thursday, November 13, 2008 bird flip.

After spending my entire life abhorring the middle finger, in my 20's I think I've started to fall in love with it. I think of the middle finger as a universal gang (in a collective sense) sign of intolerance- eff this whole idea...eff this picture...eff this establishment...eff this institution...
What is it about this image that keeps us so attracted to it, especially in photographs? Simply, the middle finger gives even the average individual the chance to become menacing, even if for just a second,in a picture. Everyone does it... Where did this sign even begin? Explanations run deep. But History says that the Greeks brought us this one...

Alternate names

The gesture is also known as the "bird", "flipping the bird", "flipping someone off", "shooting a bird", "flying the bird", "telling me I'm number one", "the single-finger/one-fingered salute", "birdie worthy's", or innumerable other obscure monikers. When both hands are used (for emphasis), it may be known as the "double-barreled salute/giving both barrels", the "double deuce", a "double whammy", "Manute Bol", or the "dirty double". A variation of the hand gesture is also made by showing someone the back of the hand, with three fingers extended, with the comment to "read between the lines."

Origin

The origin of this gesture is speculative, and quite possibly thousands of years old. It is identified as the digitus impudicus ("impudent finger") in Ancient Roman writings[1] and reference is made to using the finger in the Ancient Greek comedy The Clouds by Aristophanes. It was defined there as a gesture intended to insult another person. The widespread usage of the finger in many cultures is likely due to the geographical influence of the Roman Empire and Greco-Roman civilization. Another possible origin of this gesture can be found in the first-century Mediterranean world, where extending the digitus impudicus was one of many methods used to divert the ever present threat of the evil eye.[2]

Another possible origin is the phallic imagery of the raised middle finger (the middle finger being the longest finger on the human hand), similar to the Italian version of the bent elbow insult. Also, there is a variation of the finger where it can be done by performing The Fangul, by sticking out the finger during the throwing motion.

A popular urban legend states that during the Hundred Years' War, the French would cut off the middle fingers of captured English archers so they would be unable to use their bows, and that after the Battle of Agincourt, the victorious English showed the French that their middle fingers were still intact.[3]. This legend is also said of the V sign.

playtime for uzi.

So there's a lot going down in crazy Tokyo town.
  • Documentary exhibition on the 21st
  • Photo exhibition and final photo project shoot (which I have no clue whatsoever what i'm shooting) on Dec. 4th. I'm waiting for divine inspiration for that one.
  • Wonderful company comes into town on Tuesday
  • Writing, recording and producing more of the EP for me and Coma-Chi
  • Video interview with the directors of Applebum
And that doesn't even begin to entail the recording I am super-backed up on, and if you're reading this I'm sure you're beginning to see why. Right before any huge string of events, I usually zone out in a major way. Social scientists would likely call this procrasination. Suzi Scientists like to call it, fending for sanity.

So, first part of playtime included opening the American Apparel box and trying on the wonderfully stretchy gear.
'

Tights with zippable zippers...Richard, you're a genius. Leotards with hoodies? Deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. It's not my steez to shoot with flash, but in the tradition of Am.Ap ads, crazy white balance and super flash was required.

So later that night, I ate some great bread from this bakery that I want to steal one of the bakers from and bring back to the states with me. I like eating bread when I feel anxiety...it's the American way. The bread gave me superpowers and then I recorded some music.

Here's a new song I was playing with: Suzi Analogue- Son | MNDSGN on the production. It's the 1st Xport, so there's more to come. but enjoy. Let's all pray that I get these things done for my posterity's sake.

Tuesday, November 11, 2008 american girl.

The right box can make your day. This one comes courtesy of the homie @ WeeGingerCunt. Crazy name, I know, but Richard is an ill designer at American Apparel that recently showed love over at his online residence. It's was nice to be a part of The Freshest Five, and now get the freshest gear. Anyone who knows and cares for me knows that I have an American Apparel problem that I'm probably in debt for.

I don't know if it's the simplicity of the clothes, the retro feel, the great @$$ fit, or the flicks by Terry Richardson, or the sheer ingenuitive spirit of folks like Richard, but I dig that business establishment greatly. Now the fun will be seeing what's inside of this lovely box- just in time for some upcoming photoshoots with a genius. It's cold and cloudy as $ghit out in Tokyo, but it's always a good day to receive love.

Sunday, November 9, 2008 Do-Over.

Peace World,

Okay 1st entry here. R.I.P. Uber, we had some good times but you played me like I was an 8-Ball.

The Short Intro:
Hi. Again digi world. I'm Suzi Analogue. I have a lot of ideas and let them out on the regular by either making songs, videos, or taking pictures then sharing them with society. At this point that is the most simple way to explain me, other than the amass of information on the SHE'S link (look up top left).

Right now, I am in Tokyo, JP trying to figure the world out and shine some light innit. i've been here since late August and will be leaving in a little over a month. Each (really like every 1.5) weeks, I shoot a video journal of my goings on called the MADD BABY BLOG$, if you're wondering wtf Japan is like.

Each time I start a site/blog I wonder what it will turn into...I wonder who I'm posting for and wonder who is watching. There's a lot of wonderment that goes on with this innanet living. I'm not sure I know all the answers just yet, but I figure I'll post about the following things regularly:
music, social behavior, culturally significant artwork, history, the cosmos, love, desires, family, my cat, random AIM convos, vexations, divine inspirations, and my life in the streets.

Geez.

So for starters, we'll go with music.
I've been into remixing verses lately. Here are my $pacelifts.

10 PM | Live Illegal//Fes Rock The Science

6am | Keep Hookin'//Q-Tip Dance On Glass

Enjoy, and hopefully the rest of this blog ride goes smoothly.
