Images from the first Outside// last Sunday.

It was indeed a good time. The sounds were spreading through the whole neighborhood. Heads were nodding, and each passer-by was all smiles. We are definitely definitely off to a good start. Philly, come Outside.

Thursday, April 23, 2009 i need you in my living room.

Yes, right on the brown wall.

The very talented beatmaker/artist & homie Teebs [myspace] just released the 2nd part of his My Hollow Drum x Record Sleeve series. His earlier character portraits made me recall artist Cy Twombly, a big influence of Basquiat. The objects in new series have a dope amount of depth to them, almost like you can touch the flowers in real life....while an intersecting midnight blue pyramid-portal tries to suck you in.....haha. Check out more of the photos here on the Brainfeedr Site. Oh yeah, & support art, email: teebs@myhollowdrum.com for purchase inquiries.

Tuesday, April 14, 2009 Outside.

1 Word: Geeked.

For many many many reasons, we are bringing you a listening session Illadelph. Every other Sunday, & right outside, in the patio of my homeba$e. It is a time to get out of your bedrooms and headphones, and get out of that bittersweet funk of keeping your favorite songs to yourselves. It is because we don't hear the things we'll play at our parties at night. It is because we're less into the "scene" and more into letting the music exist as is. We want to chill. Enjoy the daytime air & sky. We want to collab with our homies outside the confines of a studio or email box. We want to be Outside.

& now, you're invited to come too. music lovers only//music snobs can stay in. RSVP to

free•all ages•byob shhh.•every othr sunday, starts april 19th• 1126 Oneil St. 19123 [bt 2nd & Front & Girard, Girard stop on the Market-Frankford Line]• come in peace, enjoy the $ounds.•

Monday, April 6, 2009 Hip•Hop Howl Mixtape | SXSW

A few weeks back, SXSW happened. I think the world is still trying to recover from the cataclysm of thousands of buregoening artists and filmmakers who: knew, kind of knew, always wanted to know, each other coming together in one city & doing what they do best.

While I was scheduled to take part in the maddness that week, I actually ended up sitting this one out. Murphy's Law is real: I fell ill at the very last minute. All the friends and fam I complained to quickly reminded me that health comes first, to which I couldn't argue. I missed out on some of my favorite folks, [Isis/Thunderheist, A.OK Collective, Cerebral, Pugz, FADER FORT >_< ...the list could get so long] So, sitting out on the sidelines definitely kicked rocks, but I was there in spirit more than ever.

Props to Miz Metro [myspace] & Crosby [myspace], two crazzzy-working NYC artists, for including me in their project the HipHop Howl Mixtape mixed by Melo-X. Basically the two saw fit to 'takeover' SXSW and infuse it with some of the iller hip-hop, soul, and urban artists they knew were holding it down.

That's a lot of crazy sounds there for free, (FREE•FREE99) so definitely see to copping that.

As for me, I'm going to start drinking more green plant and taking multivitamins to ward off the sick that's just waiting to fake me out like an A.I. move. Gotta suck my teeth and look forward to next year. Shouts out to the homies Cerebral Vortex [Analogue Cassette] & Pugz Atoms who worked it out at the festival this year. I promise to make up for all the missed time when I'm out in the Chi guys. For now, I'll just live vicariously through their video:

Friday, April 3, 2009 grand design.

When you're little, you don't think...."yo•when I grow up I want to be a logo". But then you grow taller and live in the age of iEverything, and then. Then.

This, my new mark, is courtesy of the ill designer Jason Kelly. I really feel like it brings the "$@" to life. Something simple, funky, almost full circle but not. Très Analogue.

Stickers, coming to a city structure near you. Watch it.

More design politik; I'm teaming up with Deluge [punchdouble.com] for artwork on the upcoming wax with Dopeness Galore. Soon, I'll have details on the release date, but it's right around the corner.

Watch it.

Wednesday, April 1, 2009 Grungecake'n.

Just fresh out my mailbox is the latest Grungecake Crisis Magazine.

Scoot over Vice. Grungecake [site] is probably the one of the more innovative indie publications I've peeped in awhile. It includes fun graphics like this:

Plus, it's run by SuperMogul Yam$, who receives nothing but everlasting props from me for holding down all the maddness.

L.A. gets all the fun. Grungecake will be throwing their World Mag Episode Super Release party tomorrow night at Bar 107 with the homies VerBS, Shania D on the decks, and Gumshoe. Check out the Myspace for more details.

And oh yeah, Cop you some Grungecake, mags are on sale now.
